Guidelines for sharing builds and guides.

Share your own experience

Use your own writing and photographs, or material you have permission to share. Identify the actual species and enclosure dimensions. Describe equipment, maintenance and lessons honestly, including anything you would improve.

Separate observation from advice

Keeper journals are personal accounts. They are not veterinary-reviewed care guides or endorsements of a particular setup. Provide sources for care claims, and avoid diagnosing animals, giving treatment instructions, or encouraging hazardous keeping practices.

Make the enclosure the focus

Do not include home addresses, contact details, private conversations, or identifying information about other people. Crop photographs to the enclosure. Do not upload pictures of other people without their permission.

Builds and practical guides

Label a build as completed only when the enclosure has been built, and include a photograph. Work in progress is welcome when clearly identified. For a practical guide, explain who it is for, required tools and preparation, and the steps in order. Link sources for care claims and explain limitations. Do not present an illustration as a photograph of a completed build.

Give readers enough detail to follow

Include a short description, project type and intended use. For physical projects, label width × depth × height with units and say whether the measurements are planned, current or finished. List major materials, quantities and specifications where known, tools and preparation, and ordered steps. Add construction checks, relevant maintenance and limitations separately. Costs and firsthand lessons are useful when available; identify estimates and unresolved decisions.

Link photographs to the stage they document and describe what each shows. Add the author or organization and the specific claim supported by each source. A technique that needs no tools or supplies can say so in the form. Save incomplete work privately and complete the relevant sections before submitting.

Permission to display your work

You keep ownership of your contribution. Submission asks permission for The Creature Corner to display the writing and photographs publicly after approval. This does not grant other visitors a general license to reuse your photographs. You can withdraw publication from your contribution page.

How review works

A new contribution starts as a private draft. Submission places it in the editor’s queue. Approved contributions become publicly visible. The editor can publish a ready revision, request minor changes, request major changes or decline it with a reason. Specific feedback appears in My contributions and remains available while you revise. Submitting does not send an email notification. Edits and updates are saved as a private revision. The last approved version stays readable until the next revision is approved. Withdrawal removes the contribution from public view.

You can withdraw your contribution or delete it from your notebook. Readers can report published contributions for editorial review. Approval is a publication decision; it is not an expert certification of husbandry.

Equipment relationships

Disclose any free products, sponsorships, affiliate links, or financial relationships mentioned in a contribution. The core care library remains freely accessible.
